Need extra help caring for a loved one with dementia?

At Caring Friends In-Home Care in Nebraska, we’re excited to share a new opportunity for families caring for loved ones with dementia, the GUIDE medicare program. Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) is a free nationwide program designed for Medicare clients living at home who have a diagnosis of dementia—or are suspected to have it. (Clients on hospice or living in skilled nursing facilities are not eligible.)

The program provides families with an extra layer of support, like having a nurse or trusted advisor available to answer questions or guide you through day-to-day challenges. Best of all, it’s a free program that can include up to 72 hours of respite care annually through providers like Caring Friends.

Here’s how the GUIDE Medicare Program works:

  1. Referral & Evaluation – Families or current clients can reach out to Caring Friends. Our team visits the home, evaluates the client, and works with our partner, Pocket RN, to determine GUIDE eligibility.
  2. Ongoing Support – Caring Friends provides care and guidance in the home, offering practical advice and reassurance without replacing your doctor.
  3. Peace of Mind for Families – This extra support helps caregivers feel confident, knowing there’s someone to turn to for questions or guidance.

If you have a loved one who could benefit from GUIDE, contact Caring Friends at 402-207-1050 to learn more and get started.

At Caring Friends, we’re proud to help families navigate dementia care with compassion, expertise, and a little extra support when it matters most.
